On Monday, seniors processed into the Chapel of the Immaculate Conception to place ornaments they crafted last week on the Christmas tree which was later blessed and illuminated during a Liturgy marking the solemnity of the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. Monsignor William Benwell celebrated the liturgy with the Mount community.
Sister Lisa D. Gambacorto, RSM, Ed.S., Directress, welcomed the students, faculty, staff, as well as visiting grandparents of freshmen and seniors. While addressing the grandparents, Sister Lisa said, "We thank you for providing the footsteps for this generation. Some of the best educators in the world are grandparents who provide wisdom for their grandchildren and give them the knowledge of your experience of living life - a perspective they can only get from you. We hope that the Mount will continue to influence and mold your wonderful granddaughters into strong, caring, and merciful women."
She added, "We pray today for all of our grandparents - those here, those who could not be here with us, and those who have seen the face of God. Let us now celebrate with joy our time together in prayer."
Following the Liturgy, grandparents enjoyed a special Tea in the Sister Lisa Gambacorto Theater with their granddaughters.
