Mount Saint Mary Academy Earns Pillar of Action Award from Operation Smile
The Operation Smile International Student Leadership Conference (ISLC) was attended by Mounties Isla Bernens '26, Sabrina Cialdella '27, Elizabeth Corrigan '25, and Makena Muchiri '27 at Emory University in Georgia from July 22 to 28. During the conference, the Mount was presented with the prestigious 2024 Pillar of Action Award.
Mansi Shah, U.S. Manager for Student Programs, said that the Mount "has always strived to create different ways to engage in projects, from making Smile Bags to hosting a Service Day to aid Operation Smile."
Also in attendance at the ISLC Conference were Anna Makowski '17 and Eileen Manning Quick '73 (a former member of the Mount Saint Mary Academy Board of Trustees.
The ISLC is a unique opportunity for high schoolers and undergraduates who are passionate about making a positive impact in the world.
