In the true spirit of Mercy, a group of our junior Mounties participated in the "Sleep Out: Women Unite Edition" for Covenant House from Friday, April 11 to Saturday, April 12 at Met Life Stadium. Sponsored by the New York Giants, the fundraising goal of $200,000 was exceeded by all 116 participants - including our students - and will build hope for youth overcoming homelessness and survivors of human trafficking. Our Mounties raised $16,995! Congratulations to Maeve Mooney '26, Catalina Agudelo '26, Brigid Kane '26, Ava Dreyer '26, Juliana Imperiale '26, Hayley Lamont '26, Meghan Purcell '26, Maddie Edmondson '26, Cora Waldron '26, Emily Miller '26, Keira Moran '26, and Sarah Bopp '26 for joining in this effort!
“For the past three years I have participated in the Covenant House’s Women Unite Sleepout at MetLife Stadium. These experiences have truly changed my perspective on youth homelessness and human trafficking through being able to connect the mission with active actions,” shared Cora.
Maeve added, "This was my fourth sleepout and I was so excited to share this experience with my classmates this time. It was so inspiring to be surrounded by women, knowing we were all working together to promote change and help others. Every year, I continue to learn more about the youth and get inspired by their amazing stories."
"We listened to the stories of young women who currently live at Covenant House," noted Juliana. "It was really inspiring to see that even though they are going through some hard times in their lives, they still have the drive to keep going and achieve their goals. It was heartwarming to see how many women came together to fight for and advocate for homelessness."
